Suzanne Miller explores experience embodied on a cellular level and creative potentialities there-from. Her works with collaborator Alain Pavio since 1998, have toured North & South America, Europe, Middle East. Immediacy and transformation are central to the work.

Using the body as a starting place, their corporeal lived experience attempts to expand the personal to the level of cultural discourse.  They commemorate forebears’ and invoke ancestral and artistic lineage attempting to create allegories that activate and revive a social consciousness.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF TRADITIONAL LANDS

Maxine Heppner and Across Oceans Arts is based in T'karonto Canada, sacred land that has been home to human cultural activity for over 15,000 years. We honour and acknowledge the original caretakers of this land: the Mississaugas of New Credit, the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, the Anishinaabe and the Huron/Wendat, and all peoples and living beings, named and unnamed, born into and newcomers, who live on this earth with respect and grace.
